Soapy is the one session on our menu that cares which room you booked. The Thai bath-house tradition — full-body washing as bodywork, warm water, dense fragrant suds, the therapist's hands and body working every surface — needs a generous bathroom to breathe: a deep tub, or a walk-in shower with floor space for a waterproof mat. The suites along the canal ring and the newer towers near Centraal tend to be ideal. Tell us what your bathroom looks like and we will be honest about the fit.
Soapy massage came out of the Bangkok bath houses of the mid-twentieth century, with close cousins in Japan's soaplands of the same era. It treats washing itself as the bodywork: abundant warm water, gentle fragrant suds, and the therapist's hands, sponges, and body moving over every surface in one continuous, hypnotic sequence.
Everything arrives with the therapist: waterproof mat, sponges, her own hypoallergenic soaps. A warm rinse opens the session, the suds-and-glide sequence is the long middle, and a final rinse plus a brief oil massage on the bed closes it down. Ninety minutes is the honest minimum.
Mention soapy in your WhatsApp message and we will ask one extra question: tub or walk-in shower? Your therapist arrives with the mat, the sponges, and her own soaps, and builds the session in your bathroom — a warm rinse first, then the long suds-and-glide sequence, then a clean final rinse and a short oil massage on the bed to settle you. Plan for ninety minutes; the ritual cannot be rushed and should not be.
Made for guests in suites with serious bathrooms, and for anyone who finds ritual and grooming more transporting than dry bodywork alone. If your room has a tub you have not yet used, this is what it was for.
The cleanest you will have felt in years, a full-body unwinding, and at last a use for the deep soaking tub your room rate paid for.

Either a tub or a walk-in shower, plus enough floor for a waterproof mat — roughly the footprint of a single bed. Most suites and short-stay apartments qualify. If you are unsure, send a photo of the bathroom on WhatsApp and we will tell you straight.
No. The mat contains the water, and your therapist dries down the room before she leaves — housekeeping will find nothing out of the ordinary.
Ninety minutes. The sequence has a beginning, a middle, and an end, and sixty minutes amputates one of them.
Switch to nuru, which brings its own waterproof sheet and works on the bed, or body-to-body, which needs nothing at all. Soapy genuinely requires the space, and we would rather redirect you than deliver it badly.
Hers — hypoallergenic, fragrance-light, skin-safe. Nothing from the hotel bathroom is needed or touched.
